ಪ್ರವಾಸದ ತಂಡ ಜೋಗ ತಲುಪಿದಾಗ ಗಂಟೆ ಮೂರೂವರೆ ಆಗಿತ್ತು. ಇನ್ನೂ ಊಟ ಮುಗಿದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಕಾರಣ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಬಿಡುವಾಗ ಲೇಟ್ ಆಗಿ, ಮದ್ಯ್ದದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾಡಿ ಪಂಕ್ಚರ್ ಆಗಿ, ಭದ್ರಾವತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೈನರ್ ರಿಪೇರಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಜೊಗ್ ಸೇರಿದಾಗ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸತ್ತು ಸುಣ್ಣಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಬಿಡುವಾಗ ಇದ್ದ ಚಿಲ್ಲಾಟ,ಕೂಗಾಟ, ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾಯವಾಗಿ, ಕೆಲವರು ತೂಕಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯರುಗಳೂ ಸಹಾ ನಿರುತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಕೂತಿದ್ದರು. ಬಸ್ ಹಾಸ್ಟೆಲ್ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತಾಗ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕಂಡುಬರುವ ಲವಲವಿಕೆ ಯಾರಲ್ಲೂ ಉಳಿದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆಚಾರ್ ಮಾಷ್ಟ್ರು, ಅಡುಗೆಯ ತಂಡದ ರಾಜು ಹೇಳಿದ ನಂತರ ಎಲ್ಲರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಲಗೇಜ್ ಸಮೇತ ಇಳಿಯಬಹುದೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ ಕೂಡಲೇ, ಇದುವರೆಗೂ ಮೌನವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಹುಡುಗರು ಪಾದರಸದಂತೆ ಚುರುಕಾದರು. ತಾ ಮುಂದು ನಾ ಮುಂದು ಎಂದು ಎದ್ದು ಲಗೇಜ್ ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ದಡ ದಡನೆ ಇಳಿದು ಹಾಸ್ಟೆಲ್ ಗೆ ಲಗ್ಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರೊಂದಿಗೆ, ತಮಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟ ಬಂದ ಕೊಠಡಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿ ಬ್ಯಾಗ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ಎಸೆದು ಕಾಲುಚಾಚಿ ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲೇ ಬಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡರು. ಹಾಸ್ಟೆಲ್ ಮುಂದೆ ಇರುವ ಹೊಳೆ ಯಾರ ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾವಾಗ ಬಂತೊ, ಅಂತೂ ಹುಡುಗರೆಲ್ಲ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಒಳ ಉಡುಪುಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೊರ ಹೋಗಲು ಆರಂಬಿಸಿದರು. ಉಪಾದ್ಯರುಗಳ ಸೂಚನೆ, ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಕಾಯದೆ ಗುಂಪು ಗುಂಪಾಗಿ ಹೊರ ಹೊರಟರು. ಹಾಸ್ಟೆಲ್ ಮುಂದೆ ಇದ್ದ ಕಟ್ಟೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ, ಬೇವಿನಮರದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಕುಳಿತ ಎಮ
