ಹುಡುಗಿ ಮಾತ್ರ, ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಳೆ ಶಬರಿ
ಆಸೀನಳಾಗಿ,ಶಿಸ್ತಿನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯಂತೆ
ಒಂಟಿಯಾಗಿ, ತಲೆತಗ್ಗಿಸಿದ ಕಾಡುಬಂಡೆ
ತುದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತ ತಪಸ್ವಿ ಅಹಲ್ಯೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಒಂಟಿ
ಆ ಯುವಕ ಬಂದಿಲ್ಲ ಇನ್ನೂ,
ವಾಯುವಿಹಾರದ ಎರಡನೆ ಸುತ್ತು ಮುಗಿದರೂ
ಇನ್ನೂ ಬೆಳಕು ಹರಿಯದ, ನಿರ್ಜನ ಕತ್ತಲಿಗೆ
ಹೆದರಿ, ಕಣ್ಣುಮುಚ್ಚಿ ಕಾದು ಕೆಂಡವಾಗಿದ್ದಾಳೋ
ಕೋಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೂದಿಮುಚ್ಚಿದ ಕೆಂಡ,
ತಣ್ಣಗಾಗಿದೆಯೇ ತಂಗಾಳಿಯಾಲ್ಲಿ?
ಪ್ರಿಯತಮನ ಆಗಮನ, ಆಲಿಂಗನ ನಂತರ...
ಏನು ಕಾದಿದೆಯೋ? ನನಗೆ ತಳಮಳ.
ತಾನು, ತಡವಾಗುವ ಕಾರಣ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆಯೇ?

ಕಾಗೆ  ನಾನು ಶಾ ಲೆ ಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಗಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಎಂಟು ವರೆಗೆ ತಲುಪಿದೆ. ಯಾರು ಬಂದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಬರುವುದು ಇಲ್ಲ. ಕಾರಣ ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ ರಜೆ, ಇನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಆಫೀಸ್ ನ ಸಹೋದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳು ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಇನ್ನೊಂದುಗಂಟೆಯಾದರೂ ಬೇಕು. ಮೇಷ್ಟ್ರುಗಳು ಹಾಗು ಹುಡುಗರು ಬರುವ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಹಿಂದಿನ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಮಳೆಜೋರಾಗಿ ಬಂದುದರಿಂದ ಚಾವಣಿಯಿಂದ ಇನ್ನು ನೀರು ಹನಿ ಹನಿ ಯಾಗಿ ತೊಟ್ಟಿಕ್ಕುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಪಕ್ಕದ ಹಾಲ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಿಯಪ್ಪನವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕಾಲೇಜ್ ಹುಡುಗರಿಗೆ ಕಾಮರ್ಸ್ ಟ್ಯುಶನ್ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ರೈನ್ ಕೊಟ್ ಬಿಚ್ಚಿ ಕುರ್ಚಿಗೆ ನೇತುಹಾಕಿ ಕುಳಿತು, ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರತಿನಿತ್ಯದ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸದಂತೆ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕಳಿಸುವ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರಿಗೆಲ್ಲಾಮೆಸೇಜ್ ಕಳಿಸಿ, ಬೇರೇನೂ ಕೆಲಸ ತೋಚದೆ, ಟ್ಯೂಬ್ ಲೈಟ್ ಆನ್ ಮಾಡಿ, ಹತ್ತನೆಯ ತರಗತಿಯ ಜೀವವಿಜ್ಞಾನದ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ತಿರುವಿಹಾಕಲು ಶುರು ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಯಾವುದು ಹೊಸ ವಿಷಯ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಕ್ಲಾಸ್ ಗೆ ತಯಾರಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಷ್ಟು ಅಗತ್ಯವೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಏನುತೋಚದೆ ಸ್ಟಾಫ್ ರೆಜಿಸ್ಟರ್ ತೆಗೆದು ಸಹಿ ಹಾಕಿದೆ. ಹೊರಗಡೆ ಮೋಡ ಕವಿದ ವಾತಾವರಣ. ಇವೊತ್ತು ಸಹಾ ಮಳೆ ಬರಬಹುದುಎನಿಸಿತು. ಮೂರನೇ ಮಹಡಿಯಿಂದ ಮಬ್ಬಾದ ಎದುರಿಗಿನ ಆಕಾಶ ನೋಡುವುದು ಒಂದು ಅನುಭವ. ಇದ್ದಕ್ಕಿದ್ದ ಹಾಗೆ ತೆರೆದ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನಿಂದ ಕಾಗೆ ಹಾರಿ ಬಂದು ನನ್ನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ಕಿಟಕಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತು ಒಂದು ಪಕ್ಕದಿಂದ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಪಕ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಹದರಿ ಹೊರ
